Whitman College, Everything a LAC Should Be

I have been a fan of Whitman ever since I called up to speak to the Disability Services office and was told, "Whatever a student needs, we will supply." However, it's important to note that Whitman is not an easy school to get into, and the academics are rigorous once you're there. 
Whitman is committed to sustainability, has an innovative outdoor program (See Above Picture, a career coaching program whereby every student has a dedicated career coach, and, (and this may be the biggest selling point of all), Whitman offers an early financial aid guarantee to applicants.  

Whitman is a fairly progressive institution located in a more conservative, 52% Republican, part of Washington. I think the opportunity to meet people with different perspectives only adds to Whitman's appeal. There is no large city nearby, just the charming town of Walla Walla, which has resulted in an amazing sense of community on campus.
If you love the outdoors, sustainability, top-notch academics, and accessible professors who are dedicated to teaching, you may want to put Whitman College on your list!
