Laguna College of Art and Design

Set in beautiful Laguna Beach, this small (550 students) school offers BFA degrees in the following subjects:

• Animation
• Drawing + Painting
  --Sculpture Emphasis
• Extended Reality Design (XRD)
• Game Art
• Graphic Design + Digital Media
  - Action Sports Emphasis
  - Illustration Emphasis
• Illustration
• Illustration in Entertainment Design

This school is for the serious artist, there are no dorms, no cafeteria, no sports. The art I saw displayed was amazing and most of it seemed intended for the entertainment industry rather than art for art's sake. The graduation rate is somewhere around 50% and the acceptance rate is 33%. Although I think they do very good work at this school, it is for the mature student who is highly self-motivated and will not need the support of a strong community.
