Summer Prior to Senior Year
This is where work really begins. At the start of summer we offer a number of essay workshops to educate students regarding the role of the college essay and how it fits into the application process. After attending a workshop, students spend June and July writing their Common App essay, completing the Common App, and finalizing Naviance forms. We encourage weekly meetings during this period. In addition, Masland Educational Consulting offers drop-in hours two to three Sundays a month so that students have a dedicated time to work on their applications. In August supplemental essays become available. 

Senior Year:
Masland Educational Consulting will help guide you every step of the way.

• Reminders to send test scores and transcripts
• Essay guidance and editing
• Final application review with parents and student prior to first submission
• Registering for college presentations at student's high school
• Review of documentation required by Office of Accessibility/Disability Services if accommodations are needed
• Application Plans on Guided Path keep students apprised of what needs to be sent and when
• Interview preparation
• Merit aid and Financial aid basics - referrals where needed

Once a student has been accepted and a final school selected for attendance, we offer a closing meeting to address

• Discussing the evolving role of parents in their student’s life
