 The University of Chicago has gone test optional, USC has eliminated interviews, and some universities have a program where they can track how many times a student has been on their website.
147 colleges now accept the Coalition Application compared to 772 college using the Common Application. One big difference between these two applications is that the Common App essay has to be cut and pasted into the application, which does not permit pictures, foreign language characters, or videos to be implanted. The Coalition allows a student to upload the essay, giving room for more creativity. More students are applying to more schools. An app is in the works that will allow families to fill out the FAFSA on their phones and when Stanford University added the question to their application "What would you do with one more hour a day?" the vast majority of students responded "sleep."
