The digital SAT is scheduled to begin being used in the United States in March of 2024. This means that for today's sophomores, the last time they can take a paper test is December 2023. Jed Applerouth of Applerouth Test Prep recommends that everyone in the class of 2025 take the SAT in the fall of their junior year. New roll-outs of standardized testing have had issues in the past, and some students will just do better on a paper exam, so it's best to have one score prior to the digital roll-out. Calculators will be embedded in the exam, each exam will be unique, and the test will be shorter, about two hours. Approved accommodations will also be embedded, making the process much simpler for students will learning differences.
